Water damage restoration in Milton
Most of Milton's homes are less than 25 years old, and new basements still flood. If water got into yours, tell us what happened and we'll get back to you.
Milton has the newest homes in Halton, and the July 2024 storm still flooded dozens of basements
Seventy-three percent of Milton's homes were built between 2001 and 2021, the highest share of anywhere we serve, and more than one in five is a townhouse.
On July 16, 2024, about 70 mm of rain fell, roughly a once-in-50-years storm. Halton Region took 49 basement-flooding reports from Milton: just over half from storm water getting in, the rest from the wastewater sewer backing up.
Sixteen Mile Creek runs through the historic downtown in the Milton Flood Channel, and the Kelso and Hilton Falls dams upstream hold back water to protect the town below.
In Milton, Halton Region handles basement flooding, and a home on septic needs its own protection
- Basement or wastewater flooding, or a watermain break: Halton Region, on 311.
- On a septic system in rural Milton or Campbellville: Halton's backwater-valve subsidy doesn't apply to homes on septic, so ask us or a licensed plumber what protects a home on septic.
